Jesse Aseoff, Dashathon Founder

I'm Jesse Aseoff, the Founder of Dashathon. I'm a sophomore at Chapman University and have been home for the past couple of months due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19. Since being back home, many friends and I signed up to drive for DoorDash. After over a month on the job, we all felt very fortunate to have a flexible job in a time when so many are out of work.

So with that, I came up with the idea for "The Dashathon". The first event took place on May 30th from 5-9 pm, where over 40 Dashers participated and donated 100% of their proceeds to charity. 50% of the earnings went towards Colorado COVID-19 relief, and the other 50% will be distributed among three other worthy causes. We have also recruited participants from St. Louis, Los Angeles, Atlanta, North Carolina, New York and New Jersey who committed to donate their earnings to local causes that night.

DoorDash, Inc. committed to matching up to $10,000 of the money raised through our Go Fund Me Page so a huge SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to DoorDash, Inc. for their massive support. With an original goal of $3,000, we are now looking at ways to raise upwards of $25,000 for COVID-19 Relief, frontline workers and other important causes. I am also exploring the ways in which I can turn the Dashathon into a national event where Dashers across the country can come together one day later this year to donate their earnings for a night to our Frontline Heroes!

Thank you again for supporting me in this effort. Please donate here using the link to my Go Fund Me Page.
